The florists here sell bouquets comprising tiny Hello Kitty dolls and pink feathers – how cool is that?!

Also, I have seen one or two very young children wearing loose trousers like the ones Thai fishermen (and sunburnt backpackers) wear, except these ones are slit vertically up the back. They also seem to have cloth nappies that are split in the same way, so that they are toddling around with their little bums hanging out.

None of the kids I’ve seen dressed this way was old enough to be potty trained, which begs the somewhat unfortunate question – what happens to all the poop?
