The best compliment you can pay a kinky chef?

“This tastes so good it makes me want to hurt you”

It was in reference to some Chantilly-style mascarpone. Not a particularly challenging creation, but clearly one I should consider cooking again.


This post reminds me of de Quincey saying something about alliteration being endemic among Englishmen. Apparently he used to have to go through and un-alliterate his work during the editing stage.

What did you do with the mascarpone? That stuff is deadly to me, especially in Italian pastries, I can’t help but devour four or five whenever my mum orders them.

Mixed it with sugar and vanilla and served it atop strawberries marinated in more sugar and a very healthy glug of balsamic vinegar.
